The E2-i is a 4 megapixel back, which includes an integrated electronic shutter and live focus, can be a complete camera system. When interfaced with an appropriate host computer and coupled to an optional C-mount or F-mount lens adapter. The E2-i includes a 15mm square, 2048 X 2048 pixel array with 7.4 micron pixels. The E2-i is available in range of mechanical configurations with different lens options. It is available in either monochrome or color.
The E2-i is ideal for configuration as a macro camera. 3D macro work, such as in jewelry, forensics and biological photography often cannot take advantage of large pixel arrays because of the depth-of-field limitations imposed by the optics. A camera with a smaller sensor such as that in the E2-i satisfies the need for a dedicated macro camera at an affordable price.
Live focus and electronic shuttering enable capturing images that are faithful to those composed and focused; no camera motion will disturb focus or composition.
Lens adapters for both C-mount and Nikon F-mount are available. Bellow extensions and associated Macro system accessories are available from several companies with whom MegaVision partners to enable purchase of complete macro systems.
Interface Plates are available for a range of technical cameras and medium format camera bodies.
